At the end of the studies related to the first level Academic Diploma in Jazz Composition, students must have acquired the specific technical and cultural skills to allow the concrete realization of their artistic idea. To this end, particular emphasis will be placed on the study of the main compositional techniques and languages ​​most representative of different historical periods. Specific skills must be acquired in the field of instrumentation, orchestration, transcription of the arrangement. These objectives must also be achieved by favoring the development of the preceptive capacity of hearing and memorization, and with the acquisition of specific knowledge relating to the analytical models of music and their historical evolution of hearing and memorization and with the acquisition of specific knowledge relating to the organizational, compositional and analytical models of music and their interaction. At the end of the three-year period, students must have acquired a thorough knowledge of the stylistic, historical and aesthetic aspects, both of a general nature and relating to the specific compositional field. At the end of the studies, with reference to the specificity of the course, the student must possess adequate skills related to the field of improvisation. The training objective of the course is also the acquisition of adequate skills in the field of music computing as well as those relating to a second community language.
