The Tito Schipa Conservatory of Lecce is one of the main musical institutes in Southern Italy: 1000 students and 130 teachers engaged in all types of music practice and theory. The Conservatory of Lecce is dedicated to Tito Schipa, the famous tenor of grace who financed the foundation of the Institute in the 1930s.

The Conservatory, to enhance the various aspects of the vocal tradition, organizes specialized courses for opera singers, for interpreters of the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, of modern and jazz singing and includes four orchestras: Symphonic, Wind, Jazz Band and Youth Symphony, and various vocal ensembles of ancient and modern music and a children’s choir.
